The system

The RayBotic system consists of two independently guided robots on mobile columns. X-ray source and detector sit on separate arms and orbit the object in one continuous fly-by motion. Because the measuring equipment moves rather than the part, components that are too large, too heavy, or permanently installed can be tomographed as well.

What defines the setup

Two separate kinematics

Source and detector are not rigidly coupled. The trajectory is planned for each individual part instead of following a fixed circular path.

Mobile columns

The system is moved to the part and set up there: on the shop floor, on the construction site, or in the field. Disassembly and transport of the part are not required.

Continuous acquisition

Projections are recorded while in motion rather than in stop-and-go. This cuts scan time considerably compared with other robot-guided systems.

Scan volume 5 cm³ to 1.5 m³

The dimensions of the part do not limit the inspection, since it is neither moved nor clamped. Larger parts are inspected section by section.
